First of all, I create a summer theme for Kary. I design the mermaid clasp with some pearls and corals and some starfish like clasp and earrings or connectors. Additionally I create a teardrop pure copper chain, add some czech beads and enameled beads. Everything in bright and joyful colors.
Now, I want to show you what Kari sent me 🙂
Immediately I received my beads I fall in love with everything. The wood and the ceramic beads colors are just perfect. The first bead that catch my eyes was the wood beads with Alice in wonderland theme. I personally enjoy and love Alice in wonderland story; mostly, the recently Disney movie.
And here are the photos of what I create!
I really had fun working with the beads. I feel free when I use fabrics, leather, ceramic beads and copper wire. I love to add whimsy touches for every design.

It’s time to get things running and a new blog hop is here. The Bead Peeps Swap N Hope 2016. This blog hop is hosted by Linda Arderson from Cherry On Top Designs. And for this year my partner is the sweet lady Kari Asbury from Hippie Chick Jewelry & Designs. Here are some of the beautiful jewelry designs that Kari create.
To meet each other a little bit more, we answered some guide questions that Linda gave us for this challenge. And look what Kari answered.
Why or how did you get started making jewelry? I started making beaded wine and champagne glasses as gifts in 2000. I really enjoyed working with beads so I started to try a few simple stringing techniques. My business officially started in 2003 and shortly after that I discovered my true love, ART beads! I also started to move away from simple stringing into more wire wrapping and mix-media techniques.
What style(s) of jewelry do you like to make? I really like to experiment…my creativity is driven mostly by my mood. I think my work would best be described as bohemian with a bit of rustic style mixed in.
What materials do you prefer to use (and which ones do you avoid? I will experiment with any type of materials except seed beads…I only use them for filler once in a while in large holed beads. Otherwise I am game to try any materials.
What techniques do you prefer (and are there any you don’t like)? I love to try new techniques! I often look for new things to try in my jewelry to keep things fresh and keep my muse creative. I don’t do any seed beads, bead weaving or wire weaving…tried it, hated it!
What colors do you use most, and which do you run screaming from? I really love all colors. I enjoy trying new color variations and tend to make a point to find ways to use a color if I feel especially challenged by it. I do tend to gravitate towards purples, greens and blues. Those would be my absolute favorites to work with.
Other random trivia: I am a wife and mother of 2 grown children. I am also mom to several dogs and 2 cats…and I say mom because they are part of the family! I love to create, learn, spend time with family and cooking and baking…homemade cheesecake…YUM!
I really enjoy this interview… don’t you? and every single photo of those beautiful designs that Kari create. Delight yourself seeing beautiful design and supporting her job clicking here. See on my next post revealing what Kari send me and what I create.
Hello my friends! Today I want to show you a new design. Yes, earrings!
I feel more confortable creating bracelets and necklaces. But for this occasion, I decided to create this design. The main reason why I create it is for a basic metalsmith class I took with Monique Michel, a local artist with more than 30 years in the jewelry design industry. And it was one of the most pleasant experiences I’ve had.
The butterflies are made of brass ( I cute them out by hand, using a jewelers saw) and soldered to a 20ga half hard sterling silver wire. And finally, add czech beads. I like them so much 🙂 What you do think?
Take photos to earrings it’s a little bit tricky and I know I need a little bit more of practice. But that’s a topic for another day. 🙂
I’m planning to add some earwires to my next Etsy shop update, that will be March 31, 2016 @ 5:00 PM (Eastern Time)
“Still Life with Pussy Willows” is the name of this beautiful painting, create by Taisia K. Afonina a well renowned Russian Artist. This is kind of painting that I love and enjoy most, specially for the flowers, the colours and that feeling of a peaceful home. It’s a reminder that spring has arrive with colours, flowers and birds.
And talking about colours, here’s the color pallet for this challenge.
Just perfect! 🙂 Beautiful color combination. Now.. I initially told you that I’m participating for this challenge, right? ABS, has two categories; jewelry entries and beads. And I design one art bead, in two different color for this challenge and a bracelet.
Let’s see first the art beads..
Lovely! Right? A create another with a dusty teal color.
Those are my art beads entries for the challenge. And now, I want to show you my jewelry design..
This is my beautiful bracelet made with wire, art beads and a lovely bird connector. I create this design with art ceramic and lampwork beads from Caroline Dewison – Blueberribeads (I’ve been hoarding those beads for a long time ago) Beautiful and unique fabric from Liberty Haberdashery and some of my enamelled beads with my signature bird bracelet conector, made of brass.
Well, this is all for now. I hope you had fun! 🙂
See you, until the next post!
